Requirements

On your lesson day, bring your driving licence. If you don't have one, you can apply here or grab an application from your local post office.

You must read:

• New-style plates from 20m away
• Old-style plates from 20.5m away

This will be checked during your practical test. Failure to meet the requirement means the test will be cancelled and the fee lost.

Theory & Hazard Perception

Theory Test (Part 1)

Computer-based, multiple-choice questions. Duration: 57 minutes. Pass mark: 43/50. You can take a short break before Part 2.

Hazard Perception (Part 2)

Video-based test with moving traffic clips. Pass mark: 44/75.

You’ll receive your results immediately at the test centre.

If you pass, you’ll get a certificate – required to book your practical test. It’s valid for 2 years.

Practical Driving Test

Test duration: 40 minutes. If it’s an extended test due to disqualification, it’ll last 70 minutes.

Your examiner will assess your ability to drive safely in various road and traffic conditions.
